TEHRAN, Apr. 9 (MNA) -- Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Deputy Director Mohammad Saeedi on Tuesday said the testing of the new version of centrifuges that works five times faster than the current machines will be completed within two months.
President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday announced that Iran has started installing 6,000 new centrifuges at Natanz uranium enrichment facility and has put into test a much faster version of the device.""New machine was put to test"" that is smaller but five times more efficient than the P-1 centrifuges that are currently in operation at Natanz, the president said in a ceremony marking the national day of nuclear technology which commemorates the April 2006 anniversary of the industrial production of enriched uranium by Iran.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Saeedi asserted that Iran has manufactured nuclear technology domestically.
He dismissed as political propaganda claims by Western powers that Iran’s efforts to install P-1 centrifuge machines had failed, saying, “installation of P-1 has been successful.”
